At the Junior Olympic National Invitational Tournament (JO NIT), Jaelyn
Olsen of Mat Trotters Gymnastics won the All Around title in the Senior A
division with a score of 37.025. Congratulations to Jaelyn and the staff at Mat Trotters! Jaelyn Olsen competed at the J.O. NIT Championships this weekend in Long Beach, CA where she was crowned J.O. NIT Champion in the All Around for the Senior A Division. She also placed 2nd on Vault, 4th on Bars, and 5th on the Balance Beam. This was a major accomplishment for Jaelyn considering she had 12 stitches on her toe and was greatly limited in her training leading up to the competition. Her coaches, Jeff and Trish, are very proud of "Jae" and could not have asked for anything more! Jae is a great athlete and a pleasure to work with and we hope to follow her in her continuing success through her college years. Jaelyn is currently pursuing opportunities to compete at the NCAA level.
Jaelyn has been at Mat Trotters since the age of 5yrs. old where she has been coached by Jeff and Trish Carter. Jaelyn has been the All Around State Champion for Oklahoma in Levels 4, 5, 7 and 8 (skipping Level 6) and has been a Regional Qualifier for several years. She is currently a Junior at Putnam City West High School in Oklahoma City where she is an honor student and has received several academic awards; she has also been a Volunteer for the J.O.M. Indian Education Program.
Her parents, Biff and Mary Olsen, are very proud of Jaelyn's accomplishments. Jeff and Trish would like to also thank all of the Mat Trotters' Families for their support - it was truly a TEAM effort! |
